DAQ Score

Delivered Audio Quality score, a measurement of voice intelligibility on a scale of 1-5 used to assess radio communication quality.

BDA/ERRCS Glossary Term(888) 508-3001 ext. 3000

Definition

DAQ (Delivered Audio Quality) scoring measures actual voice intelligibility rather than just signal strength. The scale runs from 1 (unintelligible) to 5 (perfect). Most jurisdictions require a minimum DAQ of 3.0 or 3.4, meaning communications are understandable with no or minimal repetition needed. DAQ testing is considered more rigorous than RSSI-only testing.
