Definition

NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) develops many of the codes and standards that govern ERRCS requirements. NFPA 1 (Fire Code) and NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code) include provisions for emergency responder radio coverage. Many jurisdictions adopt NFPA codes either directly or through reference in the International Fire Code. NFPA requirements establish minimum standards for testing, coverage percentages, and system design.
