Definition

A DAS (Distributed Antenna System) is the network of antennas and cabling that distributes radio signals throughout a building. In ERRCS applications, the DAS connects to bi-directional amplifiers (BDAs) and extends enhanced public safety signals to all areas of the building. The DAS typically includes donor antennas that capture outdoor signals, coaxial or fiber cabling, and indoor coverage antennas strategically placed throughout the structure.

How It Relates to ERRCS Compliance

The DAS is the distribution layer that turns an approved ERRCS design into real in-building radio coverage. Without a properly engineered DAS, a BDA cannot deliver compliant coverage to critical and general areas.
