Oscillation

Feedback condition where amplified signals re-enter the BDA input, causing interference and system failure.

BDA/ERRCS Glossary Term(888) 508-3001 ext. 3000

Definition

Oscillation occurs when the output signal from a BDA couples back into its input, creating a feedback loop similar to microphone feedback. This condition degrades system performance and can interfere with public safety communications beyond the building. Proper system design ensures adequate isolation between donor and coverage antennas to prevent oscillation.
